Hey, welcome to How I Fixed Me! I’m Max, and this is where I chronicle my ongoing attempt to fix my health, shed some pounds, and wrestle with type 2 diabetes — all without losing my mind in the process.
After more failed diets than I care to admit (and one too many “this time it’s different” speeches), I finally realized it was time to stop fooling myself. I needed a real plan, not just another “I’ll start on Monday” promise that somehow never arrived. So, I started this blog to keep myself accountable and to share my struggles, successes, and a few awkward stumbles along the way.
If you’re anything like me — a guy who’s been putting off taking care of himself and pretending that walking to the fridge counts as cardio — you’re in good company. How I Fixed Me is my attempt to show that it’s never too late to turn things around. I’m not perfect, and I don’t have it all figured out (seriously, I’ve Googled “easy workouts” more times than I can count), but I’m working on it, one step at a time.
Here’s what you can expect:
- How I’m managing type 2 diabetes without giving up the will to live
- Workouts that don’t make me feel like an Olympic athlete — because, let’s be real, I’m far from that
- Practical healthy eating tips that won’t require a second mortgage or a taste for kale
- Honest talk about motivation, or more accurately, the lack of it some days (because some days just getting my shoes on feels like a win)
I started this blog to help keep me accountable and to (hopefully) inspire others, especially those struggling with diabetes, to see that you don’t have to be a fitness guru or health expert to make real changes. You just need a bit of determination, a sense of humor, and the ability to laugh at yourself when things don’t go as planned (which, trust me, happens more than I’d like to admit).
So if you’re ready to join me on this somewhat bumpy, occasionally embarrassing road to better health, welcome aboard. Together, we’ll figure it out — one stumble at a time.
